Chillin in Khon Kaen for a few days, my 1st time ever to get up to Northeast Thailand, so far so good. Staying at Kosa Hotel, it seems decent.
Going to the Tukcom Miss Motor Show competition tomorrow and the next day
Been partying, drinking our Singha Beer at this nice big nightclub called U Bar, but it sucks because U Bar closes at only 2am
I will post pictures of this trip soon
Well, it’s been GREAT to see everyone, my family, my friends, my dogs, my niggaz and my bitches!!! Especially those that came back into town to be here in QC! Great to see you all, oh, and ESPECIALLY i met finally my newest nephew Levi while i was in Pensacola!
But, the time flew right by, time to head back to Bangkok, I have another life away from the QC, and to be honest, to choose QC or any other place to live i’d choose the NOT QC place, this place is trouble, great to be home, but i am happy to not be living here
just my 2cents
Hope to see everyone if i can make it back in December!!!
I’m thousands of miles away from my hometown in East Moline Illinois, everyone knows that.
So, yesterday I’m here in Bangkok grocery shopping in “Big C” (place as grocery store, and lots of restaurants etc) and I see a 20year old dude walk right past me with a freaking East Moline / Silvis Soccer shirt, blue shirt, sponsor on back “Dans Automotive”!!!! I was freaked the f*ck out!!! I mean, whats the chances of that happening!!!!
I’m still shocked by it, yes I know it’s something totally small and uninteresting but still, I was shocked, if you were in same boat I’m sure you’d be also!
Headed on a small trip 2 hours taxi away from Bankok to Pattaya Beach, Thailand for the weekend, stayed in an awesome hotel, Sabai Resort on 2nd Road. Has wireless internet in the lobby so I could work, and is VERY near Pattaya Beach area, and was a very reasonable price.
But anyways, I took a small boat trip to the island Koh Larn, it has very clear beach water, and small little huts and restaurants there, nice to relax, but the real reason I wanted to go was for the jet skiing hehehehe. I had to get my fix, I think I’m becoming a pro at it now!!! So much fun!
Today I just participated in the Songkran Festival here in Bangkok Thailand and it was a freaking BLAST!!!!!!!
The pics sucked really bad, I took my camera, though it was very stupid of me, since you can NOT avoid getting 110% drenched by all the buckets of water, and powder mix stuff that gets smeared and drenched all over yourself.
Definately was a blast and I plan to go back to the festival tomorrow aswell
Bangkok Thailand has a LOT of vendors at night selling various delicious items, from roti (from India), to crepes, banana pancakes, fruits, and also BUGS!!!! Ants, grasshoppers, cockroaches, fried frogs, and silkworms! I had to have a taste of the silkworm, they dont taste too disgusting, in fact, if I didnt see it before eating it I would’ve probably enjoyed them LOL
Hua Hin, Thailand is a pretty popular beach city here in Thailand with beautiful Hua Hin beach, I hung out here (yes, I’m currently still here hehe) for 3 days, at the beach, in the mountains and waterfalls of Pa La-U waterfalls, it was a great thing to see, it is becoming more and more littered with dirty human filth but still somehow remains a beautiful place (for now).
Pa La-U waterfalls is AWESOME!!! It’s about a 45 minute taxi from Hua Hin City, then pay 400 baht for a ticket, and hike about 30 minutes to the top of the main waterfalls (Level 5). Absolutely gorgeous!!!! The water is FREEZING cold though, but still worth it to get in and take a swim, and the big fish all come sucking on your leg, it tickles haha!
On the way back from Pa La-U I seen a ton of monkeys, and a WILD elephant!!! It came to the road, stopped and stared at the few cars that stopped to see him, then he stomped back off into the jungle. Was very neat to see, sucks though, somebody will probably kill him for his ivory within a week
Also later that night I tried a VERY delicious new Thai treat, called, Khanomcoke, it is some kind of egg/coconut looking mixture that is AWESOME, I love coconut so I fell in love with them right away.
I’ve been very interested lately in travelling to parts of Thailand that I’ve never been to before, so I headed south to Chumphon. I found the Chumphon area to be very quiet, and almost every Thai person stared at me and talked and pointed, watched me eat, watched me walk, watched me do nothing, and everything, it was pretty nice, I felt like a celebrity haha. Not many foreigners go down to that area is why, so I’m sure they all wonder, “what the hell is that farang doing here!???”
Anyways, it was nice to see some places, some untainted beaches, some untainted land, a LOT of places I seen were so beautiful, a westerner with lots of money will someday probably go there and build a resort and tear apart it’s beautiful beaches and jungles and islands.
Was a fun experience, I couldnt shit in the toilet for 3 days (the toilets were in the ground, squatter toilets ) LOL and I got to eat FRESH natural honey, right off the honeycomb thingy, it was delicious!
All in all I found Chumphon to be a nice place, but VERY VERY VERY difficult for a person from the west to adapt to, I definately will never stay there for more than 2-3 days hehe!
Dream World Bangkok Thailand is a cool place to relax and have fun, it is near Rangsit Road (about 15min taxi from the heart of Bangkok).
It has quite a few smaller roller coasters, The Galaxy, in pitch dark, (my personal fav), and quite a few more, and you have to try the water rides, they are extremely fun aswell, get VERY wet though so be careful with your camera, phone, etc, I nearly broke my camera while video taping us during the water rides.
Beautiful waterfalls, and also you can go sledding at Snow World, they have freezing cold temperatures, REAL snow and a small hill you can sled down, pretty neat to be sledding in freaking THAI! hehe. I think I’ll be sick soon though, I was dripping wet from the water rides before going into the freezing cold and my feet were totally frozen.
Bangkok Thailand has many places known for having rare and also popular gadgets, the best in the world, with Pantip Plaza, a computer and electronic supermall, and MBK Center (also known as Mahboonkrong or Mabunkrong Center), has floor with TONS of electronics and cell phones and gadgets.
Well, I was walking at MBK looking for a new phone, since I broke my old phone when I accidentally took it with me on the jet ski in Phuket (yes i’m a total retard!)
And I ran into this TINY black phone, the G-net Nano 999, I’ve never seen it anywhere, actually I’ve never seen the company “G-net” listed anywhere either, but I jus HAD to buy it, it is SO tiny, it’s black, sleek, has mp3 player, plays movie clips, camera, has it ALL!!!!
Well, the downside to it is it has VERY low battery life, actually the worst battery life I’ve ever seen in a cell phone, BUT at least they give 2 batteries, so 1 is charging while 1 is being used, so that is nice. Also the keys seem pretty cheapy.
All in all, the phone is awesome, glad to have found it!!! Thanks MBK and G-net!!!!! By the way, the cost I paid was 4500baht, that is about $135USD, so not bad priced either.
Cnet review of the Gnet Nano 999 is here.
EDIT: fyi, warning, the batteries for this phone get so worn down that it lasts only about 45 minutes talk time per battery for a full charge
Remember my blog post a while back about the beautiful beach resort in Patong beach in Phuket Thailand? Well I just finished the short vacation there, staying at this beautiful place called Burasari Resort on Patong Beach. It was totally beautiful!
Here is the post from my trip before to Phuket -> Phuket trip 2005
I rented a motorbike to get around the city, and also went on a jet ski for the very 1st time EVER! It was SO AWESOME!!! I ended up going on again. I am going to save up and buy one eventually, it was just too fun to not have one of them.
I also went to the famous Phuket Simons Cabaret show, it is a really cool, neat, interesting, and funny show with ALL post-op kathoeys (a kathoey is same as a ladyboy) hahaha
Here is the beautiful sunset from Phuket Thailand, I will call this picture “Sunset in Paradise”
Ayutthaya is the old (ancient) capitol city of Thailand. It was founded in 1350 so it is totally OLD. A group of 5 of us went there today, took lots of pictures, and did a lot of exploring, having a nice time. But kinda sucked as there was a massive amount of “farangs” (aka tourists). ![]()
As you can see there were a TON of stone Buddha’s with their heads taken off when they were conquerued by the Burmese army.
The ancient ruins were really neat to see (1 time only) hehe and were similar to seeing Angkor Wat but not nearly as massive.
In Bangkok Thailand a group of friends and I went to Siam Paragon to see the infamous Siam Ocean World. It was very cool, seen tons of fish, crabs, eels, sharks, jellyfish, penguins, water rats, and tons more other water animals.
Like you see in the picture above, can you believe I actually found a Dairy Queen in Thailand!!!! (in Siam Paragon) I couldnt resist and had to get some right before going into the Ocean World!!!! hahaha
In the Siam Ocean World you can dive with sharks, get married under water, and also go into a VERY cold place called “Polar Festival” which is supposed to be like going to the North or South pole, but too bad it was broken when we where there
On Saturday Jan 13th my Dutch friend and I went to the Pattaya Thailand and then took a boat 30 minutes to Nuan Beach Koh Larn for the Full Moon Party, this party was seriously probably the wildest and funnest (is that a word?) party I’ve ever been to in my entire life!!! Those drinks in the pics above were made with 1 full plastic cup of vodka mixed with a redbull type drink called “Shark”. It is a 30 minute boat ride to that island where it’s just a tiny island with a beach.
In April this year is the next Full Moon Party and I will probably be there with bells and whistles!!!!!
Definately an awesome experience!!!
Oh, and those dudes in the pictures with us are celebrities here in Thai, I have no idea what they do or who they are but every Thai person there recognized them and told us the same thing, that they are celebs haha!
