Manila has the cool and neat little aquarium where we got to see sea horses, sharks and even had our feet sucked on by tons of little fishes (the fish foot spa).

Leaving Cebu, Biggest flag in the world!

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

The pinoys love to get into the Guiness book of world Records, and they did it again, by creating the biggest flag in the world, the filipino flag, blue, white and red! I was leaving Cebu and you could see the flag, it looks tiny from in the air but still you can tell it’s pretty massive.

This weekend the Moreno and Miller family took a short and sweet holiday vacation to the famous Wisconsin Dells! We had a great time at the Kalahari Resorts hotel and theme park (and water park).

We did some bowling, the Calcutta Cougar won a game, we did some go karting, we had tons of Uno’s Pizza, and at Kalahari we also went down all the waterslides including the BEST one called the “Master Blaster”! Fun fun fun!!!! Tony, Hal and Payton did some wall climbing, Mom won a cute little doll for Maddie.

On the way home from the Dells we stopped at the famous Market Square Cheese store and ate some delicious cheese curds mmmmmmmmm

Metup with my good friend and “ate” (means sister) Vanessa in Guangzhou, China (pronounced Gwong-jow). Some pics while we are hanging out in the beautiful Beijing Road. As you can see in those old sidewalk-looking pics, there is a section of preserved roads from like 900AD from the “Song Dynasty“, now that is some OLD ass roads there!!!!

This place was awesome, so many lights, the river, the cruise, so peaceful and neat. I’ll be back to Guangzhou again soon :) Thanks again Vanessa for the awesome experience, I loved it!

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

My Dutch friend and I headed to the airport with no flight, no hotel, just asking what’s the next flight out to any random place, the best choice ended up being Kuala Lumpur, we hopped on the Thai Airways flight and heading Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, empty flight, and only 100 minute flight, cheap, quick, and great service.

Checked into the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in the Golden Triangle, it was a great hotel, good location, has sauna, steam, huge swimming pool, gym all open 24 hours, I loved it! And the Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower was right outside our window!

Our club of choice was Beach Club, it’s supposedly a famous club with lots of filipina girls and Vietnamese girls dancing all over the place and it was a great time. We went there every night actually hehe, closes early though, at 3am.

After the normal bars and clubs close they have the nightlife starting up. We asked around and found a place called “Hot Zone” it was inside some mall not far from the Golden Triangle. We ordered 1 pitcher of beer (costed 76 ringgits, about $22usd) and it came with 1 pill of Extacy, I didnt take it of course but I later heard that you have to pop extacy in order to be in that club, I wrapped it into a napkin and threw it away. Only beers for the Zickmeister :)

We went to Mid Valley Mega Mall for most our restaurant experiences, was really huge, supposedly it’s part of the biggest shopping complex in Asia. The food there was great, we ate Vietnamese foods, Malaysian foods, Nasi Lemak, Kim Gary Restaurant and many more

FYI, for those that travel to KL, Chinatown sucks ballz, I wouldnt recommend it for anyone, unless you like that Kao San Road type of bs, but actually this Chinatown is way worse than KSR.

Shanghai, China ( 上海 )

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Our first couple days in China, sightseeing and checking out this AWESOME city, I’ll be back here again for sure! It’s big and spread out like USA and the roads arent filled with billions of people like I imagined. Here’s a few pictures while we were walking around the city yesterday and day before:
dsc01862.JPGdsc01863.JPGdsc01891.JPGdsc01869.JPGdsc01872.JPGdsc01875.JPGdsc01878.JPGdsc01885.JPGdsc01879.JPG

In Hooters all the girls sang a song for us since it was our first time there in Shanghai Hooters, it was so cute.

And those 3 wisemens names are Fook, Luk, Sow, supposedly I have to place them in that same order to have “good luck” that’s why I took the picture of them hehe, to ensure when I get back to Thailand I can place them on my shelves in the correct order

dsc01887.JPGdsc01888.JPGdsc01889.JPG

Some foods we had while there:
Jellyfish heads, SOOOOOOOOOOO delicious
Goose liver, almost made me puke
Eggs fermented in horse urine, gross!!!
These are the wierd things, but most things we ate in China were super delicious, chicken pao, hot pots, fresh foods etc

Boracay!!!! Holy Week

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Boracay for Holy Week ROCKS!!!! It’s a very popular destination here for the Easter week up until Easter Sunday. You arrive at Caticlan airport then take a trike to the harbor where you get onto a bonka boat for about 15 minutes heading to Boracay Island. And there you take another trike about 15 minutes to the beach resorts, ours was Victory Diving Resort. It’s right on the beach, the beach here is 5 kilometers of white sands beach, filled with hotel resorts, tour agencies, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping and more, it’s amazing!!! AWESOME!!!!

dsc01523.JPGdsc01534.JPGdsc01541.JPGdsc01598.JPGdsc01687.JPGdsc01689.JPGdsc01698.JPGdsc01673.JPGdsc01712.JPGdsc01561.JPGdsc01702.JPGdsc01608.JPGdsc01625.JPG

It’s about 24/7 San Mig Lights, flip flops, beach sand parties at Juice Bar Nightclub, jet skiing in the mornings, and eating great fresh fishes for dinners, reggae music, henna tattoo’s and all, I give Boracay 2 thumbs up and I’ll plan to come here everytime I’m in this country :)

I’ve been MIA here

dsc01462small.jpg
Had to take a break from the fast paced big city of Bangkok, so I took a 1 week trip over two hours away to Pattaya and Jomtien Beach about 2 hours south of BKK. They have the best hotels at CHEAP prices and awesome nightlife, beaches, foods and even a new Central Festival World (a BIG awesome mall with tons of designer clothing shops and usually the best japanese foods restaurants). The pic above is 1 of my favorite value hotels in Thailand, it’s the Amari Nova Platinum hotel

I’m all smiles……………in the land of smiles :)

Tokyo Japan, wierd, expensive but FUN!

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Tokyo, Japan, it’s very “neat” here, it’s true there are vending machines for just about everything, taxi’s, beers, hotels, food, laundry everything is super expensive but it’s a totally unique city, nothing like I’ve seen before.

And I must mention, the food here is amazing! Last night I met some really cool people who took me to real Japanese sushi place, with sea urchin, horse sushi, eels, and we even ate a fish while it’s alive and still moving on our plate!!!!! Yes Japan does have the freshest foods ever! LOL hahahaha
